Dry Needling

What Is Dry Needling?

Dry needling involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into trigger points — tight, tender knots within a muscle — to release tension, reduce pain and restore normal muscle function. It is similar in technique to acupuncture but focused specifically on the musculoskeletal system rather than traditional Chinese medicine principles.

Is It Painful?

The needles are very fine and most patients feel only mild discomfort during insertion. A brief aching or twitching sensation when the needle reaches a trigger point is normal and usually indicates a good response.
